1. Install the extension

1. Install OpenRent AI Reply Assistant from the Chrome Web Store (works in Chrome and Edge).
2. Pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar → pin OpenRent AI Reply.

2. Activate your license

1. After purchase you'll see your license key (looks like ORAI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) — it's shown once, so copy it somewhere safe.
2. Click the extension icon → paste the key into License key → Activate / Refresh.
3. The status box shows your plan. On the Managed plan you're done. On Bring Your Own Key, also paste your Anthropic API key (create one at console.anthropic.com → API Keys; billing must be enabled there).

Lost your key? Reopen your purchase confirmation link to generate a replacement (the old key stops working), or email support.

3. Draft a reply

1. Open a tenant enquiry on openrent.co.uk.
2. Click the purple ✦ Draft AI Reply button (bottom-right of the page).
3. The draft appears in a panel within a few seconds. Edit it directly in the panel if you like.
4. Click Insert into reply box, review once more, then press OpenRent's own Send. Nothing is ever sent automatically.
5. Not happy? Regenerate for a fresh attempt.

On busy pages, select just the tenant's message with your mouse before clicking the button — the draft will focus on exactly that text.

4. Make it sound like you

Click the extension icon → edit the System prompt → Save. Common tweaks: change the sign-off from "[Your name]" to your actual name, set a house style ("always offer Saturday viewings"), or add rules ("mention the EPC rating if asked"). The built-in compliance rules (no benefits/family discrimination, no promised outcomes) are in the prompt too — we recommend keeping them.

The Model dropdown trades quality against speed/cost: Opus (best), Sonnet (balanced), Haiku (fastest).

5. Usage & billing (Managed plan)

• The panel and settings show usage, e.g. "12 / 150 drafts used this month"; the counter resets when your billing month renews. Regenerations count as drafts.
• Change card, cancel, or get invoices: extension icon → Manage billing (opens the secure Stripe portal). Cancelling keeps access until the period ends.

6. Troubleshooting

Symptom	Fix
"No license key set"	Extension icon → paste key → Activate / Refresh.
"Your subscription is past_due / canceled"	Manage billing → update your card or resubscribe.
"You've used all 150 drafts"	Quota resets at renewal; or switch to Bring Your Own Key for unlimited drafts.
No purple button on the page	Make sure you're on an openrent.co.uk page and reload it; check the extension is enabled.
"Couldn't find a reply box"	Copy the draft from the panel (Cmd/Ctrl+C) and paste it manually — OpenRent may have changed their page layout; tell us and we'll fix it.
BYO: "API error (401)"	Your Anthropic key is wrong/expired, or billing isn't enabled on console.anthropic.com.

7. Privacy in one paragraph

The extension reads the visible text of the enquiry page only when you click the button, sends it to generate the draft (directly to Anthropic on BYO; via our server on Managed), and stores neither the enquiry nor the draft. Details: privacy policy.
